Ainomori Chibi Adventure RPG Devlog #1 — A Seed of Stardust Wakes Beneath the Titan
We're making a chibi adventure RPG: wake up in Ainomori, shape your own look in the reflection of a spring, and set off on a journey with a Fukuroko. It's being built on PC first, and friends are already helping us playtest.
“What would it be like to walk into Ainomori — and become someone who lives there?”
That’s the question behind another game we’re making: a chibi adventure RPG.
A seed opens its eyes
The story begins with stardust.
A seed of stardust falls from the sky, is woken by an indigo light, and opens its eyes beneath the Titan Tree — and that seed is you.

Walk to the spring, and the water shows your reflection. This is where you create your character:
- Hairstyles: for boys, short, spiky, wolf cut or low ponytail; for girls, short, ponytail, twin tails or long and straight.
- 6 hair colours and 5 eye colours.
- Eye shapes: round, droopy, cat-like or sleepy.
Your character blinks, and has expressions too.
Once you’re ready, a Fukuroko flies down from a great arch of roots to show you around the island.

Pick up the Titan’s twig
Your very first weapon is a little twig from the Titan — two leaves, and a tip that glows faintly.
What we want to capture is that feeling from the online games we played as kids:
- Your name written under your character’s feet.
- Damage numbers popping up when you hit a monster — orange for critical hits.
- An experience bar along the bottom of the screen, and a golden pillar of light when you level up.
- Monsters dropping experience crystals and indigo coins — and, if you’re lucky, a rare “slime hat”.
There are skills, too: First Aid heals you, Gale Step makes you run faster, and Roll lets you dodge attacks. Each level gives you a skill point to spend however you like.
And don’t worry about being knocked out — you’ll slowly topple over as if falling asleep, then wake up again at the nearest “Titan’s Root”. You won’t lose any experience.
Cute — and beautiful
The characters are round and chibi, and the forest is lit by one warm light: the same light and the same colour of shadow, so the characters and the world feel like they belong to the same place.

The very first screen of the game is a beach at dusk: across the sea, far away, stands the Titan Tree. If you already have a character, you’ll see yourself and your Fukuroko from behind, gazing at the Titan together.
Where we are now
The game is being built on PC first, and a group of friends is already helping us playtest. They’ve been having a great time — and keep asking for more: more places, more story.
We’ll keep building, one step at a time, and share new progress in future devlogs.
We’ll be waiting for you to wake beneath the Titan.
